Really great shots Ken and it sounds that this trip was so much more than the eagles. Well done sir, and the wall hangers that you are getting are just icing on the cake! Congratulations~

My thoughts go out to those who are teetering on the edge of whether to come or not. My thought is to mortgage that house, sell everything you have but your camera and get here. It may be too late to plan for this year, but for next, start planning now. IMHO

Great shots from yesterday.
I'll be there tomorrow. How many birds were there yesterday?

Yesterday was too many to count (over 20 and I lose count) but the weather changed today with fog, thick stinking fog. We decided to drive up to L&D 13 to see what was what in an effort to save the morning and come back later to see if L&D 14 would clear. Fog was unforgiving, but, as many have said, there were LOTS of eagles at 13, all out of range. Most of us decided to bag it. Jim pointed out some Canvasbacks out in the Mississippi across from the Holiday Express at LeClaire. That is all I have today aside from some eagles a half mile away.

Canvasbacks in the foggy river.

Today and Saturday look like a wash with rain and bad weather predicted. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday are forecast to be clear and sunny. All of those days and beyond should be good. I will be out Sunday and Monday and L&D 14, but Tuesday will be packing up day as I fly out early Wednesday. I miss my girls at home. This has been a wonderful experience, but it will be nice to be home.

Lisa, you can't just say you got some nice photos, you HAVE to post at least one you like here. It would be wonderful to see what you got. Please remind me again what cameras, I believe both you and your Husband had beautiful camera gear also.

Here, I have a moment tonight and was looking for the first time at shots from Monday, which there were many good, but so many more that were OOF and I know I can do better now after getting tips from Frank and others who were so kind to share 'how to facts' with me.

Here go:

I came as a rank amateur and leave as an amateur who has learned from the big boys. All of these shots I know I could have done better now. That is what will bring me back next year. I need to do over... but wait, there are two more promise to be nice days coming up starting Sunday... opportunity awaits!

I hope I get the chance to apply some of the insight I've gained since I arrived over the next few days. Wow, what a hobby eh?

Two more... I was hoping to get some of these 'feathered wing' shots.

I'm glad you are enjoying your trip and getting some nice images. I was afraid there wouldn't be enough action this week. I just can't believe how warm this January was.
