I'm shooting on a 60D.

What are the best settings to use to get the best Slow Motion effect in post?

Should I shoot at 720p 60fps?

And if I do do that, would it affect my video it I shot the rest of it in 1920x1080?

And would it also be best to shoot at a higher shutter speed?

People will argue back and forth regarding what your shutter speed should be when you're shooting slow motion. Use 1/120th as a starting point and then experiment to see what you like best.

You shouldn't have any problems mixing 720 and 1080 footage. Most people can't tell the difference, especially if you're watching it on any screen under 55"

"effective" slow motion is achieved by shooting at higher frame rates than what your final master will be. So yes, shooting in 60fps and then conforming to 24fps will be your best bet.
