I was looking for a super light compact day pack to carry some walk around kit in
I discovered the Macpac AMP 12 hr with a wide padded waist band and sternum strap, which is designed for adventure racing.
Normally I would just use it to carry the 5dm2 gripped with a couple of telephotos or standard lenses, but it is surprising how much this back-pack can hold.
I got away from using dividers and inserts by using neoprene lens sleeves to protect the equipment.
Fully loaded Pack with zipped compartments in the waist band
200L in a neoprene lens sleeve goes in the front mesh pockets, the compression straps hold it in place
Main compartment carries 50L, 5dm2 with 24-105L attached, 17-40L, 430exII flash
Teleconverters 1.4x and 2.0x goes in the flap pocket
Everything that fits in the bag, to give you a perspective on it's small size

The waist belt zipped pockets can carry a range of accessories e.g TC's, batteries, mobile phones etc.
The small expandable pocket on the shoulder strap is ideal for batteries
