damn!!! I just sold most of my $2,000 PC

I guess if I want to buy the D800, I need to build one again or buy a new more powerful laptop

That's some amazing resolution based on those sample pics! Nikon did well on this. I can't tell you how happy I am this was released...Now I can start my used D700 search and hand my D5100 down to the boy and get my camera back

People can afford $3k body should be able to afford a $2k computer

I finally have a reason to upgrade my PC, playing all the recent games feels like torturing

Dont even need a $2k computer..

Could throw one together capable of handling this crap for a grand probubly...

I really, Really hate the "Wahhhh my computer cant handle it" excuse, if your computer cant handle it, then you probubly cant even afford the camera to begin with

I have no problems with computing power with my new Mac and new PC, both very high end, but nonetheless there will be issues with such large files. Windows is IMO pretty fragile and I get problems with it on every PC I own - including the latest one. File storage will also be more of an issue than it was.

5D & 7D (both gripped), 24-105L, 100-400L, 15-85, 50 f1.8, Tamron 28-75, Sigma 12-24, G10, EX-Z55 & U/W housing, A1+10 lenses, tripods, lighting gear, etc. etc.

Exactly! $1k you can get a perfectly fine Rag that runs 90% off the stuff. $2k you can run everything on ultra!

Its part of my plan...

I bought them all anticipating the fact that Canon users are going to switch en masse for the D800, Now I control the Nikon fast prime market!
