That's great, I like the color and the lighting is excellent. The title is perfect too.

[edit] I just read your blog post. The story makes the shot even more meaningful. Thank you for sharing, I'm going to go hug my kids now.

I agree.. this is an awesome shot. I love how you set up the light and the story behind it is so bittersweet.

Thank you kindly for your feedback. I appreciate your feedback about how the shot works and how your perception changed after learning some context. It is part of a series, so to know the context is part of the "art"...

cheers

Wow, what a beautiful photograph. I'm so sorry about your little Noel. Reading the background behind the photo brought me to tears, with my 3 little boys sitting here with me.

Thank you, AngieLanigan. If a few kids get one more hug or kiss because of this photograph, then I feel it has done all the magic I can hope for. Life's too short to waste those opportunities...

Heartbreakingly beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing. Hope it's okay, but I linked your blog through my facebook as a pure example of what still images can accomplish that all the words in the word could not.

Moved,
Joel

Thank you for your words, both of you. And thanks for linking on Facebook. I'm glad if this picture finds its way into many hearts. Would you mind sharing your FB profile with me, Joel?

cheers
