When you don't know why a particular camera is better for your type of photography, how the hell can you say in general Canon takes better photos?
Because it says Canon on it.

For me, I am looking for more mpix. If that is with Canon, Nikon or even Sony, it does not matter. More mpix will allow me to ake better large prints. But for you...Canon just takes better photos...don't know why, just because.

Right, so now I don't know anything about cameras. That's where you are taking your argument?

I just look at the name and say "pretty!"

Too much invested in Canon glass, I love my 5D2 and it is doing just fine, if the 5D3 sucks then my next upgrade will be 1Ds3 when the used price came down to $3000 instead of spending $7000 on the 1Dx. Another reason I will never get a Nikon even if they make a D900 with 100mp and 2000 super advance AF points is they do not have 85 f/1.2, it is my most use lens, my priority is lens first and body second. The 5D2 and 1Ds3 are very capable camera anyway, either one will do just fine for many years to come.

Too expensive for me to jump to Nikon. I'd rather just buy a 1D X than switch to Nikon and have to buy the Nikon equivalents to the lenses I own, as well as the PocketWizards and Speedlights.

Whoopee! Canon has a few 1.2 lenses. Not a big deal. ;)

Should I sell my 5Dii and 1Div and get a 1Dx? I kind of like not having to swap lenses as much with two bodies but man, I'd love a 1Dx....

I actually like to try different gear, and after pre-ordering a D800 decided to give it a shot. I'm sure I'll be back whenever 5D3 comes out, but for now it should be fun to play with a new AF system and a bunch of add-ons. Not too thrived with 36MPx though....but keeping an eye on what Canon does next. From what I've heard, it'll be a 19-pt AF from the current 7D and more MPx. We'll have to wait and see what happens.

You could. I cancelled my 1Dx to preorder the D800. :)

Haha...I've also pre-ordered the D800. Hopeful that it ships sooner than later :)

Why? Any link to properly compare the D800 to the 1Dx?

D800 - Does focus at f/8
1Dx - Does not focus at f/8

I would switch simply because the Nikon 50mm f/1.4G has excellent build quality and I use 50mm more often than anything else.
