Been considering one for a while as a decent compact to take out when taking the SLR kit is not an option. Thought about an S95 or S100, but like the articulating screen on the G12 and also like a viewfinder for some work. Also though about holding out for a G1X, but decided to just take the plunge.

First impressons are pretty good. Hopefully get out and bag some shots in the next few days... :)

My thanks to everyone that has posted here in the G-Series section, some very useful comments, images, critique and support for this series of cameras. Helped me to make the decision.

Just a texture shot, but thought I should post something. I'm looking forward to getting to grips with this camera, it seems quite sharp, nice contrast too on a flat-light day.

Thanks. Been meaning to take a picture of this tree for ages, it's on my way to work. Used to see a Little Owl sitting in the branches now and then, but haven't seen it for a long time now.

Consider a small sling strap for the G...that's what I used when travelling around Quebec City in the rain. Kept the camera under my weatherproof coat until I needed it. OpTech stuff then. Gordy makes a great leather sling now...more money. And there is stuff from Black Rapid too.
I had 2 G11's. I considered a G12, and still look with envy at the photos posted here. (Could toss a coin between the G12 and P7100 some day soon....or G12 and S100...
