Ok. So a few minutes ago, I'm sitting around and looking through the shots in this thread when my wife comes in and tells me to grab the camera (and jacket and hat ...) and come into the back yard ...

Thanks Peter! Yea - while we see owls here, it's really not an every day occurance. This was about 60' away from my back door.

Very much looking forward to the shots you get tomorrow Anne - fingers crossed the Osprey are waiting for you. That, and that it's warmer than it is here (about 10F last time I was outside).

Randy, it's supposed to be cold here on Sunday, but this is Florida..... cold probably means 60ish or 70s. Right now, I have my a/c blasting away. LOL

hmmmmmmm I could have sworn I posted a couple of shots (before I totally crashed for a 4 hour nap... LOL) Must have forgotten to hit the submit button. I was that tired........but also that elated. The day started off rainy, and gray, and just plain yuk. Didn't take long though, until the sun came out; the sky turned a gorgeous blue, and these guys and girls just boggled my mind. Lots more to come when I have time to really go through them.

Thanks to you both!! For a day that started out horribly, it turned out to be just amazingly beautiful. From what I heard, by next month, there will be even more Osprey nesting there, and with eggs and soon chicks in the nests, they won't be flying as much, but will allow photographers to get even closer, as they just won't leave the nests at that time.

All I know is it was just one of the most wonderful days I've ever had, and I can't wait to go back there again. Now if only I knew how to drive one of those pontoon boats..
