Very interesting stuff in there... He goes into depth about the AF system's new settings, Basically its a nice hybrid of the 7D and 1DIV with a lot of major improvements, I like how there are now PRESETS for various AF situations that auto-set the custom functions (IE AF Servo Tracking Priority and that)

Overall seems they made the AF a lot easier to understand and adjust in a hurry or for someone newer to the camera, while giving us more features for those of us who need the ability to dial in more settings or fine tune the performance of the AF system to best suit our situation (Of course im comparing to my 7D, im not intimately familiar with the 1DIV!)

Also apparently only the usable AF points are shown in the viewfinder now...Guess that was a problem before?

I just finished reading the review too. Interesting stuff! I'm looking forward to this camera body getting on the streets and we see lots of people putting it through its paces. Then we can get a fee for what it can really do.

looks like a killer camera. Gonna be so interested in seeing what the 5D3 update will be, especially after reading this. Now that Nikon put the 800 out, im thinking the 3K market might look pretty good for canon shooters. But i agree with what he said. Its out of reach for most people. I would have to sell the 1DMKIV and a 5D2 to get one.....No Thanks.

Yeah, But i guess it could do the job of both the Mark IV and the 5D2 for a lot of folks in one camera...

But yeah, im really interested, mainly because i -expect- a lot of the little improvements will be trickled into the lower end cameras, Especially the 5DIII and 7DII (Please, For the love of all that is holy give us the AF system menu, that looks SO much nicer than what we have now!)

It was only last week when everyone was trashing canon and the 1Dx....."the sample images are terrible"... " I'm selling my canon gear ASAP"...etc and the new Nikons were all the rage. What a difference a few days makes.

In my defense i wasnt one of those people ;)

I looked at the 1DX samples, They look good to me, But I also dont have a lot of experience shooting a 5DII... The D800 looks better in some ways, but the sensor is also a lot higher resolution and its intended for a different market entirely compared to the 1DX

Nobody is going to be able to tell anything about the 1Dx files until someone get raw files out on the net for discussion and people can see what this think is going to do at the higher ISO's.

Agreed. That's exactly why I can't wait for it to be out on the market for a few months. Then we can really tell.

Also, admittedly, I'm not in the market for this camera...but I look forward to some of the features trickling down to the 5D MIII and the 7D MII. Both of which are most likely in my future...
