I have never had any formal training or taken even one class, but I would love your critique of some of my favorite pictures. Do you think I have what it takes to make this a successful profession? Thanks for your help and suggestions.

Is anyone seeing my pictures? Why aren't they showing up?

You linked them to the folder on your hard drive.

I've always used an off site host because the attachment process is smarter than me.

Here is the sticky on posting pics.

I currently use Flickr and link to there. Sorry I can't be more help. Someone else will surely jump in and fix you up.

That was really rude. Makes me think again about asking for a critique. We all start somewhere.

Both would look so much better without the over the top PP to the eyes.

The little girls face looks out of focus in the first photo.

I see some interesting shots on you flickr page but you are using a very heavy hand on the processing. Back off a bit and I think they should be fine.

Calibrate your monitor?

Just a friendly jab hvh. I couldn't resist, the Gods were calling me.;)
There is probably more than one way to post up a picture on this forum. One way is to right click your Flickr image, click properties, copy the URL address, and paste that address after clicking insert image when you post up.

One thing I did notice were the expressions on peoples faces that you shot ..... good timing! Most of the pictures were over saturated however, as one poster pointed out.

Keep posting. I have only been here a couple of weeks and can't tell you how much I have learned already.

With email, texts, blogs, and forums it is easy for someone to express somethnig jokingly and not realize that to the receiver's eyes it is being taken in and entirely different way.

Both photos look slightly out of focus on the face to me. The first shot seems like the focus point is about midway down the little girl's chest and on the second it looks like her hand is in sharp focus but the face is just slightly soft.

I don't think two photos are going to answer your question. If you have a passion for it, go for it, build your portfolio, and a year or two down stream you'll know the answer as you begin to give advice as well as take it.
Good luck.
Cute kids. You need to watch strange colors emerging as you process. (Blue on upper lip #1, blue on chin #2)
