Picked up my 1DmkII today and holy crap does she ever look mint! I knew it was going to be a good deal for 500$ but with a shutter count of under 5k and flawless exterior I think I got a steal!

I'll post some photos later for sure!

Jealous. I paid $450 shipped for my 1Diin w/ the oe charger, 2 oe batteries, all cables with 35x,xxx shutter count and the body has been abused :(

but being a CPS member, shutter replacement will be cheap and I may just do it as a precaution soon.

Here she is in all her glory! Sooooo happy I scooped this camera, pumped to start contributing. I mostly dwell in my 5Dc thread, and soon enough my 5DmkII thread once she gets here in the next couple of days! This is a fantastic week :-D

one tip for other 1D2N users (this probably is common with all models) might find useful, C. Fn 04, switch AF-lock and AE-lock position.

I really liked this one, being used to AE-lock on shutter button on my manual focus cameras. my lenses (Sigma) also allow manual interfering focus without switching to MF-mode, so its great camera does not attempt to reverse adjustments when I press shutter button.

Am also having C.Fn 08 configured, so LCD panels show what ISO is being used.

Posted these on the Urban life thread, but since they were shoot with the trusty 1Dmkiin, I figured I would include them here. From this past weekend's Mardi Gras parade:

got to really push this camera in some low light. 1/320 at 4.0 and ISO 1600 with no editing. Needless to say, I'm super impressed so far.

Pretty bad first impression, but in the confusion from having 109182309182 new buttons, I left the camera in JPEG mode. I HATE SHOOTING IN JPEG!

I'm really like it also. These were taken @3200 ISO, f2.8 @ 1/400.
Please excuse the watermark

I was contemplating that decision myself, ended up just buying a 1Diin as a secondary body. No regrets, at least not yet :p but that 1Diii is looking very attractive these days haha
