thanks for the info. You have some nice gears. Does your bag have a strap for tripods?

There is a pair of straps across the top of the bag, which I've used to carry a Manfrotto 055MF3 without problem. There is also a foot pouch and top strap at the rear of the bag, which is better suited to lighter weight and smaller tripods. Quick question as I am getting closer to the purchase of this camera. The body I am looking at is serial number 560,XXX, so I know it is our of the affected AF. No shutter count info is given so I was wondering does anyone know about how many of these bodies were produced? This unit looks flawless.

Does $2,200 sound like a fair price for this body, not a single blemish on it. No AF problems, unkown shutter count.

$2,200 ehhhh. Depends on the shutter count?! $2,200 for me would be MINT condition, no more than 20k-40k in actuations, with box and everything that came with it.See if there is some wiggle room, dont lowball but try to get a few bucks off. However,its a great body you wont regret it.

This thing seriously looks like it was never touched. The thing is that it is through an online retailer so I don't think I can offer an amount on it. There is no box unfortunately. I am going to try to see if they can give a shutter count from them.

I got mine for several thousand less than that in almost perfect condition. It was in the affected ser#, but had all the paperwork from canon with the fix done. It had prolly less than 50k shots, box, everything that came with box, with an accessory focusing screen.

If you can, wait and see what floats through the for sale area here and on FM. They sell for anywhere between 1600 up to 2100. Clean ones. I was lucky and got a great guy (crazeazn) who put up with my and my idiosyncrasies. He gave ten day grace period if I didn't like the camera.

If the retailer will give you a return period and a warranty ( for a decent time) may be a difference worth paying for.

I would love to score a crazy deal like that but having no previous purchases here or on FM, and having only used Ebay about 5 times in forever I do not have any feedback really so for someone selling a $1,700 - $2,300 body they might over look me I feel. So I think going online retailer route would be easier and that way I have a receipt (for insurance and tax purposes (college student)) Plus they have a 30 day return and 90 day warranty.

I will see what happens with the shutter count and see if it is worth it. I have a feeling it is low.

That's a really good price!

I pulled the trigger on it today! Since its past the billing cycle I don't have to pay for it until April. Which will give me time to add a little cushion to my bank and it will be 10 days before my birthday.

Rally stoked on this!! What CF card does everybody use in this camera?

That's kind of where I was at. Started doing a lot of portrait work and wanted to pick up a FF body and was all set to buy a 1DsMK II. Then a project I'm working on needed video too and I had to cancel on the 1Ds (had a real nice one lined up ) and picked up the 5D MK II. Great camera, but I will always love the 1D body feel. Feels so perfect in my hands
