I think you need to spend more time out shooting and being a real photographer, and less time crying, errrr I mean posting on POTN these days.

Says the guy who posted 1364 posts on POTN.

ON the other hand, it is really quite funny how you well you fit into the "consumerist" prototype. How's masturbating with those shiny L lenses going for you?

Crying? Sure thing man.

You're even way off on my post count, geez. :)

Jealousy never got anyone anywhere you know.....so why don't you go back to your "non-consumerist" gear and let's get this thread back on track.

So you think it is about gear envy.

One can only see as far as how much he knows.

I don't think I am the only one that can read right through you're posts.

I must add though, you are certainly making the day go by much quicker with the hilarity, thanks for that! :lol:bw!

You really are reading right through my posts -- and not understanding a cent of it.

Gluttonous use of "book-worthy" sign and neat organization of red Ls in the signature with nary a link to a page with actual photography? How much more "POTN" can you get?

This will be my last post in this rather stupid thread (so you can have your last word -- have at it!), but you should consider yourself extremely lucky to have such a padded lifestyle because it certainly wasn't ____ and it must have taken a lot of luck.

Unless I make some money from it I won't have the cash to do it again... well, unless I end up with a chunk of inheritance that isn't big enough to invest in much at some point some day. Or get my novel accepted for publication and it does well.

For me I'm guessing around 30,000.00-35,000 in gear computers software and accessories. If i get to add my truck into the mix to get me where I need to go lets add another 37,000.00 to that.

I do not think I spent a lot, but, only my State Farm agent knows for sure. It is all insured.

Before making statements like that, please read my posts more carefully.

If you look at my posts earlier, you would have noticed that I was referring to amateurs specifically. And there ARE exceptions; for example, sports photographers would NEED to spend many thousands of dollars to not become hindered by their equipment.

In any case, you can be both photographer and consumerist. But I don't like seeing people who are mostly consumerists (obsessed about the L lenses and possessing mediocre, if not completely non-existent, portfolio -- describes the majority of POTN unfortunately) pretending to be legitimate photographers.

If POTN is populated with people so distasteful to your sensibilities...why bother with it?

Mutiple posts of yours have belittled POTN and contributing members.

Cheers,
Bear Dale
