What would you shoot...

...if you spent a very large part of your time in your house?

Please don't say, "well go outside," for the times when that is impossible for whatever reason... what would you shoot when you got tired of taking pictures of the furniture, the cats, the dog (or worse, they get as savvy as the rest of the family and start hiding as soon as they see that strange black thing you always put in front of your face come out).

I figured if I threw this out here, maybe I could get a list and work from it. I obviously at some point need to invest in a macro lens or macro tubes so I can start playing more with texture, etc., and have fun with that... whole new worlds right in front of you when you start doing close-up stuff...

Wuzzi.....the kitchen is your goldmine for indoor photography.

You must be thinking of your kitchen... mine is all brown. LOL

Seriously, though - I'll take that under advisement. I did do a picture of all the veggies that my garden stand-obsessed husband bought last fall...

stuff in the refrigerator, ice cubes in the freezer can be fun, we've got 7 parrots - they're always good for a shot. i like macro photography in the house, it opens up a whole new world.

You need water, food coloring, lights, poster board(various colors), and various fruits, vegetables, or anything that makes a splash or will drowned in the sink!
These are the things I like to do when we have no power or just really bored @ 2am.

Set up a couple bird feaders outside one of your windows, and have fun getting photos
of some of the birds that show up. This is an example of Gabes Magic Window in

Take stuff apart and get close ups. Get some shots of any jewelry or watches and try to make them look elegant with different backgrounds and lighting, use glass or plexiglass below the watches for nice reflections. Toys, knick-knacks, or something else in an unusual setting. Stack up books and try different angles and lighting. Shoot water droplets on a piece of glass with colorful objects about a foot below. Peruse the "still life and experimental" forum here on POTN. Toss some colorful playing cards about and see what ya can get. Good Luck!

If you need to stay indoors, I think one or more good macro lenses are a must have. Maybe even Canon's specialty macro lens.

Portraits in the studio. Other than that, nothing really.

There's probably a million things you could shoot in macro.

Oh my. I just noticed that the original post was over a year ago. I hope the OP found something to shoot. I think that the subject is worth reviving, however.

Well, if he didn't, he will now.

Flowers and macro finding are what I do indoors. Sometimes weather sucks and your indoor and it gets boring. Either that or lately I have been messing with my model cars.
