I am really looking for something light to carry and even fit in a pelican 1510 if i want. that one looks fantastic, but length might be an issue. I am 6 foot even, so how would the travel angel work for someone of my height? decisions decisions...
If you travel out of the U.S., you won't be able to pack any tripod in your carry-on...unless you're planning to check the 1510. Foreign security consider a tripod or monopod to be a blunt instrument, like a cricket bat, and they will confiscate it.
Also, any sticks that will fit in a 1510 will mean a tripod with a short height for someone 6' tall, and will have you stooping or kneeling if you want to use the tripod without extending the center column. If you do that, you dramatically reduce stability, which is the whole purpose of a tripod. Carefully review the height stats on any tripod you intend to buy.
