Thanks for all the help guys. I am browsing that ebay store and have decided to definitely buy something from them.

I am going to get either this :

BENRO C2692TB1 Carbon Tripod Kit (external link) for 375$

or this:

BENRO MeFoto C2350Q2 Carbon Tripod Monopod Kit (external link) for 350$

I've contacted them to see if they have the white Mefoto because it looks awesome.

Thank you for all the replies and I will let you know what I finally decide!

IMO Feisol is worth the little extra on top. They all weigh less and support more than the Benro's you listed. Plus Feiol customer service is outstanding. If you do go Feisol, order from reallybigcameras, Kerry there is one of the best people I've dealt with:
http://reallybigcameras.com/Feisol/Tripods (external link)

I ordered a CT-3441T from there, and have 0 complaints about it. Rock solid, very light, compact, great tripod, I have no doubt it'll keep me happy for years.

I'll second this. I've been using the 3441T on multiple trips to harsh climes, and have never had an issue. Have disassembled and cleaned them several times, they are built like tanks. See my review.

The Benro's are made in mainland China, the Feisols in Taiwan. There is a big difference in QC between the two. I've seen the problem with QC in China first-hand, with other products and with medications. IMO, stick with Taiwan and the Feisol.

Hey guys. I purchased Mefoto C2350Q2 (external link) for a couple of reasons. It's the equivalent of the Benro C2691TB1, except that it's slightly lighter, has a smaller folded height, and is also a little bit less expensive. Not to mention it stands out among other tripods. I will post pictures etc when I receive it and let everyone know how the finish and quality is. The grips on the legs look better as well.

Other stuff I ordered
Canon 10-22mm
B+W KSM 77mm Circular Pol
Step down ring
2 new batteries
16gb Sandisk card
580exII flash diffuser
Clips for my backpack to attack the camera directly too when walking around
Wireless shutter release remote

Lots of new toys :)

ps. Benro C2691 on BH (external link) is 536$. I paid 350 for the Equivalent on ebay. Quite a huge price difference for anyone looking for a good tripod.

Well I ordered a C1682tb0 on Tuesday night and it arrived today, you can't beat that kind of shipping. I could not be happier with the size and it appears very stable, but have not really tested it out yet.

Thanks to all of you guys for the great information.

Congrats, but that's a pretty slow delivery. ;) When he shipped to me, it was picked up very early in HK and arrived at my doorstep on the evening of the next day! DHL was the carrier I think.

That is exactly what happened, it left on Thursday via DHL and came Friday.

Have had the Benro C269M8 for about 3 years now (if not more).

Wanted a light tripod which folded down very small - tick
wanted a strong tripod -to carry 5D2 and 100-400 - tick

But, I am not as happy as I was - I find the twist lock keeps letting me down - either I have to twist it locked so hard that my hands hurt - or I put the camera on and find one or more of the legs slowly start giving way!

This is getting more and more annoying - I have to check and double check each joint - and even then, the same sometimes happens!

Any ideas - this was an ideal tripod initially!

I am a bit late in replying but I agree with Sirrith and tvphotos, Feisol is a really good brand, read a lot of good reviews, I haven't pulled the trigger in getting the CT-3441S yet. Benro I looked at the they look alright, max weight I prefer Feisol. Manfrotto travel tripods are priced good but max weight is my concern so Feisol it is. :)

Have you actually checked them? See if the locks need cleaning or if the bushings need replacement. I think you only get 3 years of warranty, so you might want to check that soon. If you're not covered anymore, see if you can buy replacements (if needed).
