I was testing out the light in front of the window in one of my older kid's bedrooms today...I can hardly believe Elliott is 4 months old already...I feel like I just had him! He's discovered his hands and eats them pretty much non-stop now.

My favorite from the day...

Making his crinkle lip face...

And a cute grin. :)

Biting his nails...lol

Here's the 1st one in color. I love his eyes next to the color of the blanket, but man oh man I struggled with some wicked color casts in that room. The walls are painted a dark orangey/brown color and I had major issues with red and yellow in my shadows. I cleaned it up the best I could...

One more in color...this is his flirty look. haha

These are really beautiful! Was this all natural light and with your 50 1.4?

Thank you guys! Yes, these were shot with natural light and my 50mm 1.4. ISO ranged from 800 on up to 1600 (for the close-up) and the F stop ranged from F-2.8 to F-4.0 (again, the close-up). If I raise the exposure any more on the color shot, the red channel on the right side of his face will clip. I like the shadowing. :D

Man, Lisa.......I hate looking at your pictures. Just about the time I think some of mine look OK, I see something you shot.

These are beautiful......as always.

And for what it's worth, I think the shadowing is right. Dark enough to add some depth yet not hide detail.

Remember what the DorMouse said.....feed your head.
