I'm on the lookout for a 70-200. I'm going with either the Sigma OS or the new Canon IS mk II. Anyone know any sweet deals on these?

Edit: I'm in Europe, by the way.

Don't even bother with the Sigma. Get the Canon. It's so much better. Well if you can afford to get it.

I know it's better, that's why I'm trying to find a good deal. I don't want to buy it full price. Doesn't matter if it's used.

Well, your best bet is to keep a close eye on the used forum here on POTN. I've seen some really good pop up here from time to time.

"Hello,
The Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L II IS USM Telephoto Zoom Lens for Canon SLR Cameras is new, US model (it's an displayed model, not used and is as good as new it just had to be listed as 'used' as the box has been opened. The lens is in new condition, only exposed, not used), comes with 12 months Canon warranty, receipt, all manufacturer supplied accessories. The total price is $1,250.00 including all shipping taxes. If you want to buy send me your full name and address and i will contact Amazon asap to process your order. Despatch is by normal UPS Services which takes 1-3 days depending on where in the Europe you are.My return policy is full money back in 14 days.

Please let me know asap.

Many Thanks"

Think this is trustworthy? I mean, it reeks of stolen goods, as it's so cheap...

e: I think it was as the seller is now gone from Amazon, it appears.

Stick to a reputable store:

$2174 from the big three, or $2143 via eBay from reputable retailers if you want to save a bit. Or watch it for a deal, which would be inevitable...

Of course not!

Absolutely, 100% positive it's a scam!

I'm amazed anyone would ever fall for something like this...
