Seriously....it does. Eligibility criteria is pretty liberal at KG-college. Adobe representative confirmed to me over chat that anyone in the household can use the software for personal, family use. Commercial use is not allowed.

My daughter is in 3rd grade and I bought an edu license for her. We intend to use it for family photos.

I paid $400+ for the web premium edition. It's only $99 now.

Adobe seems to be coming out with new products. I am undecided whether I should pick up the production premium edition now to get the video editing capabilities or just wait for the new versions.

It's not clear whether edu licenses can be upgraded...although I have had an adobe rep confirm over chat that edu licenses can be upgraded, we disconnected before I could ask him whether he meant that upgrade was possible only to professional licenses or could one upgrade from one version of product to the next version. There are a lot of people who say that edu licenses cannot be upgraded.

Wow, thank you for sharing! I was going to wait for the release of CS6, but for that price, it would be foolish of me to not purchase now.

Thats because CS6 will drop shortly. Not saying CS5.5 isn't phenomenal to start with, but CS6 should be here in 2-3 months tops.

looks like there is a limitation on the S/T edition program:

Restrictions on use
You may purchase only one license of any Adobe Student and Teacher Edition product within a 12 month period. Purchases of Suite editions (such as Design Premium or Master Collection) are limited to one title per platform per year

anyone who has already purchased an S/T title cannot take advantage (unless you have another student around). since i bought LR3 S/T edition last year, im SOL :(

Awesome deal..... i tried LR3 student a while back and got denied even though the Adobe rep told me I could buy it and use my wife's name (grad school).... Denied because my email address was on the order. Now I've got LR3 on the way from Adorama for $70 and will have the wife buy CS5 tonight and have a pretty awesome editing setup for $110.

T3i, Sigma 10-20, Sigma 30 1.4, 18-55 kit, 55-250, YN-565, a few books, some software, and a desire to get good.....
