I believe this should be in the rumor forum but if these are the specs it'll sell well. especially if it has another 1 stop iso performance.

considering I bought my 5D II refurbished from Canon Directly for $1.599...they can keep the mark III for $3,500.

Oh I want the dual slots. I miss them so much since I sold the 1d2 but I didn't like the large body.

Kind of on the fence and need more detail.

  • Does that mean it's a better LCD display that is more useful in bright outdoors?
  • So same resolution. Does that mean lower noise (not counting software noise reduction)?

What I would have wanted is a low-noise 7d variant, that means lower res crop sensor (ideally 1.3x crop in a small body but hey I can dream, right?).

I won't say that I didn't miss the 7d AF in the 5D2 but it appears to me that having a 5d2 and a 7d is much more useful at the same price.

It really depends on what I'm doing and how the stock market performs. If I do more low-light events (where the 5d2 isn't quite good enough) and the 5d3 gives me lower noise and if I find the cash in the stock portfolio I would bite. I kinda doubt the lower noise thing, though, I think it's more likely the same sensor.

My imagine composition sucks. I need a heavier lens.

The 5D line, like the 1D, does not have a pop up flash, so there is no wireless flash control.

The rumor I heard was 6.7fps for the drive speed.

I know there have been thousands of posts like this since even 2011-10 about the MK III
But, still, thank you for at least naming those dates, as I was checking for options on buying the 5D mk II within the next few days, and the prices are just insane!

I see posts of people that got the 5D mk II for like 1550$-1700$ and that was a year ago! This 2400$ jump in price makes no sense, so I Really hope that after that announcement-prices will drop significantly so I can finally purchase that mk II. :)

For goodness sake, why do we need another thread on the exact same thing that's already been mentioned hundreds of times in the last 24 hours.

Really?
