Just got my AB800 today with Cybersync Commander and vagabond mini, beauty dish, soft silver plm.

Any tips on using it outdoors? Like what I can expect to prepare for?

spend atleast a good 6 hours learning the cyber commander, it a little tricky with the b800's, so much smoother with the e640.
When ever I have problems usually a battery pull works to get it fixed.

what BD did you get?
my main traveling setup, which hopefully will come to bangkok with me, is an e640+hobd-w+vml :)

If youre using that PLM outdoors, youre going to want to prepare for it to take off. :D Sandbags are a must.

I found out what you all we saying about the PLM taking off... Even my little 51"...
Definitely going to make/invest in some sandbags for that. I like the quality of light, however.

The beauty dish is very nice outside. I've yet to figure out the Cyber Commander, but I'm spending some tonight to learn it! It took me about 30min just to figure out how to sync it up with the AB800.

Can't wait to aim this towards some people and start firing away.

Isn't a large soft box better than a beauty dish? I couldn't get even coverage head to toe from a beauty dish. It was apparent that the light was up top and the feet were dark. Soft box gave me beautiful even coverage.

What size softbox and beauty dish were you using?

no and yes, depends what you want, i use a beauty dish 90% of the time, but i love a big soft box right next to the model
