Considering I got my 35 f/1.4L for $1,050 in mint condition used, and it can be had for around $1,100-$1,200 all day long, it better come in a lot less than $1,000....

Heck a new one is about $1300.... $400 is worth it for an extra stop

Looks like these new slow, short IS primes are primarily designed for video.

Most still photographers would want something faster than 24mm f/2.8 or 28mm f/2.8 in a prime, and IS isn't such a big priority.
