Went to Midwood HS just off of Bedford Avenue on the south side. I lived off of Nostrand Ave. and Avenue J. Bedford Avenue a very popular route in the middle of Brooklyn. Nice pictures, Pio. If you had gone down to 8th Avenue you could have had some seriously good Chinese food. Brings back lots of memories of my father coming home at 3 in the morning and smelling the bagels baking in the shops, bringing a dozen or so home if the door of the stores were open. Thanks for posting. Maybe next time I'm in NYC (May 13), I'll take a few from your side of town, Queens. :)

Nice shots BB
1&3 are my fave's.
I always check out the New York photos on here, I'm staying there in Sept and it really whets my appetite, think I'll be filling a few cards up.

You've got so many great places to go and see, and foods to eat and shows to watch and places to shop and . . . . Okay, I love that place. :)

Good stuff BB, I like number 3. I used to walk to Bedford Ave. during my short time in Greenpoint when I first moved here.

Wow, Great series of captures. It brings back memories from my days in Brooklyn. Bedford Ave is the longest road/street in Brooklyn, stretching from Sheapshead Bay to Greenpoint near the Queens Boarder. These look like they were captured in Williamsburg or Greepoint, this is where Bedford gets really narrow. Thanks for sharing and bringing back some memories.

As for the shots, they are all very good. I like the first one with the guy having the coffe in the window, newspapers machines each catering to a different sector of the community, and finally that splash of graffiti on the wall above the paper machines, such a classic Brooklyn moment. Again, nicely done.

Thanks Rich, Mills and Dave. #4 is a personal favorite of mine too, high contrast really brings out those lines. About some being dark, I guess it's a result of bumping up the contrast to bring out a bit of texture.

Thanks Suzy! I'm glad this evoked memories from you. These pics were taken a bit further north, at Williamsburg.

James, we gotta roam Williamsbury/Greenpoint sometime. So much pics waiting to be captured :) Thanks for the comments.

Thanks Peatoire. Just tell me when you're coming, we might arrange a POTN meet while you're here.

Right you are, kr88! This was taken at Williamsburg, just a bit north of Metropolitan Avenue. Thanks about that trivia about Bedford Avenue, I didn't realize that it was that long.

Thanks too for the kind comments. here's a color version of #1

Thanks Tee! I figured #2 looked better in color than B/W.
