Good test man. I never realized that even color gets washed out a lot on FB.

I just got my 60D in the mail a couple of days ago and now it is at best buy and I will receive an exchange next week. Somehow, there was a crack you could see when you looked through the eye piece. I thought it was a fiber at first but took it to best buy and the guy there decided it would be best to just exchange and send me a new one because he was afraid to try and get the possible fiber off because he might scratch the sensor. I'm a little disappointed that I had it for 3 days and now I have to wait another week or so to get a new one but thankfully it was a pretty easy exchange.

That's a bummer, but best to take care of it right away tho.

Vincent, great flash photography!

Personally, Flickr bugs me, because I have to go to their site to see the Exif data. Although I upload to FB for my friends, I use Photobucket for all my Internet posting.

Good thing they went for the exchange, since he wouldn't have to even get close to the sensor to fix what you were seeing through the viewfinder. The fact that he said he might damage it pretty much guarantees that it would have been much worse off if he had tried to fix it.

Yeah, I honestly don't know enough about my camera to even know where the sensor is located and who knows if the guy from best buy does either. HAHA!
I was glad they just decided to order me a new body and have it shipped to me.

Now that LightRoom is actually useable again, I'm finally catching up on processing from a couple weeks ago. A couple of my favorites:

You should learn the mechanical basics of your camera, here is a good overview with a basic diagram of how the light travels in your camera.

http://www.digital-slr-guide.com/what-is-a-digital-slr.html (external link)

The only thing they don't show is that the mirror that reflects light up into the pentaprism and into the view finder is also partially transparent and the rest of the light hits another mirror right behind it that is at a different angle and reflects light down where it hits the focus sensor array. The whole mirror assembly flips up and rests against the focusing screen at the base of the pentaprism and then the light goes against the shutter which opens to expose the sensor. So as you can see, if there is something on the mirror or stuck in the pentaprism it will never actually be seen by the sensor.
