My God!! The detail on the guy's vest and jeans at full resolution IS impressive!

Next time I go to B&H for a seminar (2 in March) I will ask to compare the lenses and save the photos on my card.

Thank you for taking the time to show me.

PS: Makes my poor 18-200 look like plastic...

You won't be disappointed with the 70-200 IS II :)

Congratulations!

I had to take Marine Firefighting in a previous life (at Texas A&M, both Basic and Advanced) and it was really exiting!

Be safe!

Congratulations. I've been there. My son was born almost 11 weeks early at just about the same weight in 1989. He's almost 23 now. A few things. First, the next couple of months will likely be a bit of a roller coaster. There will be good days and probably some frustrating ones. That's normal for extreme premies. Second, don't bother reading the baby books that tell you what your child should be doing at one month, three months, six months etc. The schedule is all off for premies, but he should be more or less caught up by the time he's two. Finally, as a general rule, premies tend to come home sometime around their original due date. Not sure what the standards are today, but in 1989 they also wanted the body weight to be around two kilograms before sending a child home. Good luck to you and your wife. :)

He is awfully precious - but what makes the photo, for me anyway, is your hand (or momma's?) and the two rings in his hands.

One from last night. Not sure which I prefer - I like the colours, but the B&W has much more texture. Makes a change him sitting still rather than trying to wipe his doggy nose gunk all over the lens :)
