this was my first time with an off camera flash . i had a 30 inch umbrella and a 430 ex . i was using a 7d with 24 105 , and my 85 1.8

this is some of my faves

this one is my fave . its with the flash but i used the recovery tool in lr3 to take some of the hot spots away . i had the flash too close to her

this was one of the first shots i did with her sweater hanging off her shoulder . its a nice one but i think the first photo turned out better

i also took alot of full body with the flash that i will put up later in a new thread .
let me know2 what you think . i need to learn this off camera flash but i hope im off to a good start . i would like you all to critique me as though i was a pro .

She's lovely, but you've overexposed all of these images... Takes away from them...

The flash wasn't too close, you just had it turned up too high.


7d, 100-400L, 17-40L, 24-105L, 85 1.8, 50 1.4, 580exii, 430exii, AB 800, reflectors/lightstands​/modifiers.
