Same here, that's $4700 US. Seems really excessive for what's sounding like a minimal upgrade to the existing MkII. But we will fin out Friday. :) Maybe Canon will knock out socks off with a killer body ultra clean at very high ISO.

No, in electronics, the current money conversion is 1$=1€

We're poor in Europe...

Canon, do not forget I will want some milk in my coffee... and I want my 5D3 with better noise performance at high ISO, improved AF, integrated flash trigger and a nice price.

Touché! You also have some nice $$$ pro gear there ;)

I am just thinking that the exchange rate in electronics should be somewhat closer than the actual exchange rate.

Do yall really think they'll call them 5D3 & 5DX if there is indeed a split? Wouldn't it give more credence to the old rumors of the 3D line or whatever, so 1DX, 5DIII, 3D (new)

Used right at ISO 800 or below? Care to elaborate on that statement? Most of my shooting is at 1600 and my gripe is the AA filter. That is something they need to work on.

ISO1600 is simply noise, some people can live with it but I can't, it is horrible. Even without the AA filter it would be noise, the only benefit would be the sharpness after NRing the shot.

People might get confused and think the 3D offers stereoscopic video?

Regarding the Canon event invite: I interpret it to mean: "Wake up and smell the coffee. We're going to eat Nikon (symbolized by the muffin) for breakfast."

All the very best,
Z

Hoping that the 3 full-frame bodies thing is true. The third one *has* to be a hi-res body - I just can't see Canon releasing three very similar bodies in the 18-22MP range, while not leaving a true successor to the 1Ds3 and 5D3.

Just hoping it comes fully weather-sealed, in a compact form factor and with the option of no AA filter...

I'm interpreting it as Canon saying, 'Oh, **** - we'd better wake up, the competition's overtaking us!'

Then they deserve to be ripped off.

It's an economic Darwin award...
