Think this will sufficiently hold me over until I can afford the 1dx. :D. I will wait for samples first though.

I can't seem to find anything on Canon's website or the Photokina Cologne website. Photokina started yesterday or today it seems. So initially I'm inclined that although much of what is stated here may be true, it is from the canonrumors website.

+1
Wait for the official announcement to see it it worth the extra $1200 over the 5Dmk2.

Yah, and "high end features". :D

If the trend continues, this will be my next camera...right before the 5DIV is announced.

sounds great, except I really wish they have increased the pixel density to at least that of 1dIV at 26mp. Also, I am very interested to see if there is ANY improvement made in raw file noise and dynamic range. My suspicion is very slight if any. but we shall see.

My 5d II is a fabulous camera - I am sure the 5d III will be spectacular. Pretty exciting for those that will get this new camera right away. I purposesly purchased my 5d II a few weeks ago so that the new one would not entice me. It will take me a few years to learn this one, by then the 5d III will be affordable as we await the released of the 5d IV.

ISO 100-25600 (expandable to L:50 H1:51200, H2: 102400)

So, is it safe to assume/guess native ISO at 25,600? 12,800?

Everyone was basically begging for a 5D sensor in a 7D body. This sounds like that with whipped cream and a cherry on top. I know what I'll be shooting with this year.

It appears that 100-25,600 is native, yes.
