How crap are these specs!!

You'd think Canon could at least have put in USB3.

Waaaaah!

So you have the same AF as the 1dx (3 times more x points than nikon)
Native ISO of 100-25600 (walks all over nikon)
6fps (2 more than the nikon)

I guess anyone complaining of these specs must be a nikon shooter.
My wish list is complete anyway.
Well I would like to see a built in radio trigger

I don't know what an HDR "mode" is, but it sounds like an iPhone 4S feature. So, I guess we can all breathe easier knowing that the 5D III is keeping up with the iPhone. I would prefer an actual dynamic range improvement, but the "multiple exposures" feature could be awesome. We'll know a bit more tomorrow though.

I'm thinking about starting a new thread/poll: "Yes or No: Do you think POTN members will obey mchong 75's command and not waste valuable space by starting any new 5D III threads?"

Unsurpassed Image Quality

Awww, D800 is doomed now, Canon leapfrogged them by including this technological advancement in 5D3. I wonder if there will be two of these in 1Ds4.

I imagine the 5DIII's "intelligent viewfinder" is like the 7D's.

"The 7D utilizes Canon's new Intelligent Viewfinder which uses a liquid crystal overlay to provide various displays of focusing points and zones, on-demand grid lines and a spot metering circle. The LCD overlay can also be illuminated or turned off completely."

Does anybody have a confirmed time for the announcement? So far I've seen 9.30AM 2/3 on an Italian invite, and 11PM 1/3 EST when CR are starting a broadcast - those two times are 4.5 hours apart ?

Is that the best you can do, No USB3? LOL

What do you need a USB3 on camera for? You can buy CF cardreader with USB3 for $30and go to town. Apple doesn't have it on there machines, they use Thunderbolt and very few motherboards even support usb3.

Because lame apple doesn't want to support new standard so everyone else shouldn't?
Pretty much every single new board has usb3.

And as far as thunderbolt goes, nothing uses it, other then maybe 1-3% of macs

No it will not. 7d has those modes, basically makes the shutter more quiet.

Weird, the Nikon D4 doesn't have a USB3, ;) but the D800 has one...

Maybe cause the d800 files are going to be bigger compared to D4 and 5D3 files at 36.3 megapixels.
