It's hard to tell since I'm on a work monitor. Here's another source I found.

Don't really see a significant change from the D3s, if any. However there's more resolution so I suppose that's a pretty good accomplishment.

True. Not really a bad thing. The D3s is AMAZING. :)

I viewed them a while ago. Nothing ground breaking but, it is slightly improved. :)

Even if its not "better" does it matter, is anyone unsatisfied with the d3s? Looking at 5d3 and 1dx its hardly much better than d3s...

The D800 looks like a winner even in filming, theres a lot of old nikkor lenses that will go up in price over the next few months...

How do you figure the D800 sounds better than the 5DIII? They seem pretty equal, less MP is a bonus, though if the new AF system from the 1DX with the heap of cross and even double cross points works as well as it should the 5D3 could be the king of wedding cameras. The D4 will probably be better, but will cost more too.

But then again who knows if Canon can make an effective AF system.

Exactly Tim... Canon has been designing new AF for almost every new camera. Nobody knows how it will perform while the 51 point AF of the D800 is already a proven formula.

the high ISO samples of the 5D MKIII and the claim of some that the 5D MKIII's high ISO performance is only 1/2 stop better than the 5D MKII when shooting raw and 2 stop better when shooting JPEG. While the D800's high ISO samples seems better than the D700 and almost as good as the D3s... and we are talking 36mp here and if you don't wanna use 36mp, you can opt for 15mp DX mode too if 36mp is too big. So I think its better for most applications :D

I have used every canon camera to date excpet the 1dmk iii, i dont gind their af improvements since the dmkII. Resolution for filming the d800 is monster. Sharpness is not the key, clean is. The 5d2 is already the king of wedding, and it is only a normal upgrade for the guys out there using the 2 for some years, im sure they will be all over it. I would too. However i still think the D800 will prove to be a higher vlass hdslr.

That canon AF system really needs all those cross points.

Just saw the ISO 3200 sample. Looks like heavy NR has been applied. Looking around for better samples now.

We gonna have more members here in the next few months?:lol:

I didn't pre-order 5D3...a little underwhelming compares to D800 and cost more $$
