Forum member Don1 has posted so many great photos of the Great Horned Owls at the park he's been visiting, I thought I'd add a few from another local park that also has a couple of little ones nesting and growing.

His photos have me striving to improve mine.

Very nice shots Mike, mom doesn't look too thrilled with you at all being in the vicinity of her babies.

Mom doesn't look very happy...
This is a great set, I'm all the more jealous that I'm unable to find one of these in my area :-)

Hey, this must be quite the treat to see. I must say the adults are, ummmm, a little better looking than the chicks.

:)

Thanks for all the replies.

Mom was busy tearing into something, looked possibly like a possum, so she had her head down into her nest and just looked up periodically to see what was going on, hence her evil 'low profile' look lol

a few more of mom in the nest. One looking quite intense the other looking quite relaxed.. probably within 5 minutes of each other.

Very nice and with two owlets to feed there will likely be many decent opportunities to see some activity during daylight hours. :-)
