Looks good to me (on paper), but we'll see what the reviews say. For me personally, this camera does what I (personally) will need it for.

If the existing 24-70 I was good enough for the old 5d2 and this one is only a slight bump in MP and the 1DX is actually less than the 5D2, why a new lens where the primary improvement is the resolving power? http://bubble-trees.com/

My 5D2 is already better than I am; I can't justify the 5D3 when I have no need for the autofocus. If I need the faster/better AF, I pick up my 7D. dawn | 29 | gear

It is just a bit more money and it gives me the flexibility of having the best of both worlds (tech and full frame) in certain situations. Ditto. I'm picking up a 5d2 this morning. On the other hand, the AF from the 5d3 leaves a little to be desired. I look forward to some solid reviews. Curt Rebelein, Junior

I'm gonna build my own perfect DSLR! JUST KIDDING. It's what I expected. I was kinda hoping for more fps, but whatever. Expensive? Yeah, but I'm not rushing out to order it right now. I'm gonna wait at least a year before I make a decision (if I feel I really need to upgrade from a crop to full frame body). I can be patient and see how it does in terms of performance. I'm hoping it has really good AF (with freakin' 61pts) and image quality. I've only been in DSLR photography for a couple of years and I've spent that time slowly refining my system and lens choices to where I'm pretty happy where I am now. I DON'T "NEED" a full frame, but I'd "LIKE" one. The specs on it don't make me wanna jump over to Nikon either (I just don't wanna spend the time learning another system). Plus, I'm not printing poster-sized images, so 22mp is just fine for me (I do well enough with 18 right now anyway).
