Am I the only one having a problem downloading the firmware update from 2/28?
It goes to a zip file and won't continue.
May be a computer problem.
Thanx for looking in.

Have you tried one of the other Canon websites? Europe, UK, Australia?

Thanks, hadn't thought of that. Suspect I need to spend some tech time with my computer.

The latest firmware update is only to handle new Lexar CF cards, UDMA 7 capability. No other features. Useless for most of us useless you purchase a just available, Lexar UDMA 7 CF.

Have you done Canon firmware updates before? Unzip the firmware, then move it to a spare CF. Place the CF in the camera and install following prompts.

Canon 6D, 1DmkII, IR modified 5DII with lots of Canon L, TSE and Zeiss ZE lenses

Hey, about this update, is it to include the fix for shooting in AEB? My camera never shoots each frame, I must keep pressing the shutter button. Unless I'm doing something incorrectly... :)
Thanks,
Jennifer

Your manual is feeling neglected. Spend some quality time with it.

I have a different problem. Direct connection from PC to 5d. I am getting a Copy File error "Cannot copy 5D200212.FIR". I dont really need this update but this is weird. I can upload pictures no problem. I restarted the PC and it's still the same. I don't have a card reader.

Have you tried unzipping the file as what Canon suggested. The last update, I unzip the file, use a card reader and transfer the .FIR file, insert card into 5D2, and went to menu for the update. (Of course make sure you have no photos in the CF). In the location of the file, if you have winrar or winzip after you "right click" to extract the files, there will be PDF instructions (Both using CF card or PC to 5D2) + 5D200212.FIR

"Windows
After the downloaded compressed file (.zip) is extracted, a firmware folder is created.
*Extracting the downloaded file:
Right-click the zip file, and then select Extract All to extract the file. The extracted folder contains the firmware (file name: 5D200212.FIR, file size: 9,754,668 bytes) and instructions on the firmware update procedures (a PDF file in five languages: Japanese, English, French, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese)"

Are you using EOS Utility?

I checked and there is no option to update firmware in EOS utility.

Yes there is, I just read the PDF file on updating firmware by Canon. They have instructions on how to update it through EOS utility. The PDF file should be included with the file you downloaded from Canon.

Its under "Camera Settings/Remoting shooting", wish I can upload the PDF somewhere.
