Nice 430! Hate to ask but is it yous?

Nah it's not. I've spent a lot of time in it, but unfortunately I don't own it.

That was my first thought upon seeing the specs for both cameras. The grass is always greener on the other side, even for manufacturers!

Annnnnnd just to get some photo content in this thread...

I've been thinking about the D800E lately, and the benefits of downsampling these huge 36MP images to around 20MP. I am thinking that down sampling D800 images to 20mp will definitely beat any existing full frame camera in terms of IQ. Am I right?

If so, how exactly do I downsample my images? Can this be done directly in camera as I am shooting, or do I need to batch process my files in Photoshop later on?

Is it as simple as going to image size menu in Photoshop and just lower the size?

Please give me a dummy explanation. :)

Here is an ISO 6400 crop comparison between the 5D2 and the D800. No noise reduction to either picture.

No it's 36MP. My crop is from a 100% crop posted here:

If I could get the raw file and do the default +25 chroma noise in LR I would like to see those results.

I really liked the 5D2/D700 at iso 6400. Anything to improve upon that while raising resolution is impressive in my eyes.

That 6400 looks darn good. I may never shoot that high but, it's nice that it's there. :)
