Indeed after going through 96 pages, am convinced.. am going to get this little bugger. For me , I have shifted from Canon 60D to Nikon D700, and used to use Sigma 24-70 on 60D. Was not that much impressed on 24-70 , but am very impressed on this little bugger.

Its just half the weight, though its costing INR 14000 (roughly 270$) in India here used... Not sure whether to go ahead with the deal or not...
Do you guys think , it will be a good purchase for my D700 , I just want a portrait lens, and would love to know about corner sharpness more.. I have test driven this lens , and was a bit impressed, please need more info.. Cause its always like Poor man spends more than a rich guys... I cant think of Nikon 24-70 right now :(

I'm planning on selling my 24-60/2.8 in case any of you in the thread are interested in one. It was my first lens and was fantastic while I owned it. I just find myself using my other lenses the majority of the time.

I dont see them for sale very often anymore since it's been replaced, but it's still a great lens. PM me if interested! I'm going on vacation next week, so was planning to create a For Sale thread after returning; however, I thought I'd mention it here first in case anyone is looking for one in the mean time.

@rcarindom2003 you should get it! (test it first though, like with any used lens)

I love mine but wish it had a little more reach, which is why i bought the 28-135, but it's slow, you can't get the best of both worlds lol.

If I can manage to save up some money I'd like to get the new Tamron 24-70, then I will let everyone know that I am selling this one. However I will likely try to sell it locally for more money (try listing it for $400 and see what happens, since any kind of 2.8 zoom lens is expensive in my area).

I don't think I will ever sell mine - paid $189 for it new out of the box from Cameta. You just cannot replicate this kind of image quality and overall performance for that price point. For the $200 - $300 I could get for it - how can that money buy me anything better?

This is one to pass down to a son.

Well it was a GREAT 4 years with this lens, and I really didn't want to sell it... but everything has it's price. I really would like that new Tamron 24-70 VC, which I why I put this lens for sale locally for $500 (yes, a highly inflated price) and I ended up selling it for $420! There was no way I was going to sell this lens for cheap (maybe $350 minimum when I was closer to having enough for the Tamron) because I think it is that damn good! I hope the guy that bought it enjoys it as much as I did.

Good information as to know where to price it....I think its worth every penny the guy paid.

kijiji in Canada (same thing as craigslist). I have sold a number of things on kijii for more money then I would have got selling online (and no shipping to deal with) and it's nice for people to be able to see your item and test it before paying.

I've just read about a quarter of this thread and been impressed by the results people get from this lens. I'm waiting on one turning up that I found (for not much money) on eBay. My shooting habits have changed over the last couple of years and I'm taking a fair amount of pics for a friend's band. I mostly use an 85mm f1.8 and Nifty-Fifty Mk1 for tight shots, but I wanted something fairly fast and flexible for wide/loose shots. I've got a 35 f2 & 28 f2.8 which have their uses, but it's a pain swapping lenses, and 24-60mm looks like a good range for this sort of work, and the sort of venues they play in. Has anyone used this for concert photography at all?
