Have they lowered the MSRP or is this introductory pricing? What did they do with LR3? I'm not ready to upgrade yet but I'm worried the price will jump up in a few weeks.

Just checked Amazon, they have the Lightroom 4 upgrade listed for $79.99, and they say "Temporarily Out Of Stock". Bet they didn't update anything yet.

And no headlines on Adobe's home page yet. No one probably got out of bed yet...

Adobe's site has both the full at 149 and the upgrade at $79 with free shipping until March 31. I ordered the upgrade with free shipping - I always prefer to get an actual disk to install from.

Sweet!!!

Just chatted with Adobe online support. They said that the they are only supposed to do courtesy upgrades for people who bought LR3 on or after 3/6 but they would make an exception for me since I bought it so close to the date..... So I'll have full LR4 for $69.95 once the case is closed.

I assume they'll do the same for folks who bought LR3 during the last round of sales.

Question I bought LR3 a while back from Amazon and haven't opened it yet. Now I see this LR4 upgrade. Can I return LR3 to Amazon? I logged into my account at Amazon and it shows "Return Item" option.

Thanks for the info! I'll contact them too and see what they say.

As long as it is within 30 days based on date of purchased then yes. Note that my purchases 4 years ago still have that "Return Item" option.

Go online and chat with Adobe customer support. They might give you the courtesy upgrade.

will wait for the t*****t.

Why not just head to your local Best Buy tomorrow (or whenever they get LR4), grab a copy, and run like hell out the door? Same thing really ...
_______________

In other news, you can download the full LR4 now (as a trial) and just do the serial number stuff when you get your physical disc in the email ...

Just received a reply from Helen Oster (Adorama's UH-MAY-ZING CSR)... Here's a copy-paste from my email:

"Dear Butch,

We don't take back any software once it has been opened. If it is not opened we can take it back within 30 days. But, as far as the upgrade, Adobe themselves offer the FREE upgrade. If Light Room 3 purchased after 02/06/12 you can get free upgrade. Here is the link below:

www.adobe.com/go/pa (external link)

I hope this helps, but please do come back to me if you need anything else, now or in the future.

Best wishes,

Helen Oster
Adorama Camera Customer Service Ambassador"

So for those of us who took advantage of the "Valentine's Day" LR3 sale, it looks like we get a FREE UPGRADE to LR4!!! Thanks Helen for the info... As always, YOU ROCK!!!

bw!
