How often are you in Japan, skidu? That first one is all too familiar. 2nd one looks like something that should be in a zombie movie (almost).

I was on holiday there lastyear for 3 weeks - that think that shot was on the train from Nara back to Osaka iirc and haha thanks, i was going for that whole 28 days later vibe.

hey guys, i stumbled upon this thread and i wanted to give it a shot; tell me what you think! thanks!

i used a 2.35:1 ratio. looks like a bit too much.

You will find that 2.35:1 is actually what most of these pictures should be using if they wanted to get a "real" cinematic look.

If anyone is not 100% sure of their crops (and there are a lot of bad/not accurate examples out there on the internet) try importing a photo into Final Cut Pro or similar video editor and add the borders there. (you can also colour grade it there too).
