Not in Live View. In LV Silent Shooting the mirror stays up the entire time, so the exposure meter in the pentaprism area gets no light at all. However the sensor is active, so metering comes off of the sensor. It uses the green rectangle magnification area to meter. Its like a very large spot meter. Try LV and move the rectangle about with the joystick holding the camera still. See the exposure changes. When you go and take the shot pay attention to where this rectangle is.
