Did you get in the night of the announcement or sometime during the day? Also, as Helen mentioned with all the multiple preorders I'm thinking the window to get in for their initial allotment was much wider than some may think.

Amazon didn't post there pre order option until about night time. I pre ordered mine at night. I kept checking the website all day. When I pre ordered mine it didn't have this message that's up now

Note on Availability:This item is in high demand and we have taken orders up to our initial allocations. We will continue to accept pre-orders and fill them as soon as additional inventory becomes available. We will not charge your credit card until we ship the product.

There is now a thread over at Canon Rumors where someone posted some info he got by calling B&H. Apparently they have over 10,000 pre-orders and could get anywhere from 100-1000 units in the first batch (but the employee said to take those first batch numbers "with a grain of salt"). The poster also said that an order time of 12:20am EST put him in the second half of the first 500 on the pre-order list.

I wonder how long it will take the stores to get their second shipments from Canon!

Anyone else get the iPad 3 as well? 2048x1536 in that small screen and able to display 18 mP images. Ipad3/5dm3 combo is going to be greeat

Put in my order for an iPad 3 last night. Can't wait to bring out the eye-fi and use it with Shuttersnitch on shoots. No more ghetto CF-SD adapter

Now it's a matter of waiting to see which of my pre-orders ship out first. I ordered within the first two hours on B&H with two day shipping and then a few hours later on Amazon with 1 day prime shipping. Decisions decisions...

Yep, I've got an order into J&R, the salesman told me they had 25 cameras coming and only 20 preorders so I should be in the first shipment! Fingers crossed, I've got two day shipping on it too. Also I've got an order into worstbuy, I mean BestBuy but I'm not too confident in them.....

You're in better shape than I am. I'm probably at the bottom of the totem pole doing a preorder weeks after something else was announced. Four days in I'd say you may wind up getting one out of their second allotment. Canon was really quick with the 7D and I think all the preorders were filled within a few weeks once they started to arrive at the retailers.

Wow, I hope I'll mines sooner. Well, I just hope that I get it for my even I'm doing on April 28.

I'm not for a couple of reasons:

1) As others have mentioned I don't feel like being a beta tester.

The MKII people graciously beta tested for us for three years, now we have working auto focus. :D

I haven't preordered yet, I'm wondering if I would have it by the end of April??? Id like try to get one locally but I'd much rather not have the added taxes.

Ever changing.

Better to preorder now and just get in SOME sort of queue... the pipes are likely to be jammed for ages...
