i suspect this has already been covered, but i did a search and nothing came up. i currently have a 7D and am looking to upgrade to a 5D or 1D. i mostly shoot landscapes and sports so, right now, i am leaning toward the 1D M IV because of the 10fps. i realize this will mean upgrading to full frame lenses as well but, who needs to eat? any thoughts greatly appreciated before i take the leap.

Actually, you will have the 50 f/1.8, 24-70 and 70-200. Except for maybe wanting to pick up something wider, you won't be too challenged in the lens department. :)

I don't have either camera, so I can't give you a good answer on that part though...

As far as I know, you will be able to shoot with all the lenses you have minus the 18-55, and 55-250 since they are a EF-S lens. As wuzzittoya said, you can actully use the three other lenses and get good coverage. Id look into getting a 17-40 or a 16-35 depending on your budget, I would go wigth the 16-35, PLUS there is a rebate on that lens aswell right now of $110.

Ive shot with the 1d Mark IV, and I want its TERRIBLY bad, I am waiting for the price on it to drop considerably till I buy it though, as soon as the price drops, I will snatch it up! Dont sell the 7d though, you should always have a second body, hince why I am wanting to buy a new camera so I have a second.

I currently have the 7d, and I am stuck on if I should buy th 1d Mark IV or the 5d Mark II, or buy both, I would have full frame, crop of 1.3, and a crop of 1.6 if I did, so I could use the 16-35 on the 5d, 24-70 on the Mark IV, and the 70-200 on the 7d, its just would it be worth it to me to have 3 cameras? haha, these are the things I think about daily.

If you can keep the 7D (for sports), I would say consider going full frame with a second body (your landscapes will love it).

Landscapes don't move around much, what do you need 10fps for? 5d is a great body.
