yeah...specially when the 105mm VR flew out of the bag

well the D700 is okay so I don't have enough reason to buy the D800 yet hehe...
only the MB-D10 broke  I hope the top portion of the MB-D10 is easy to replace :(

Next time do a better job of breaking it when the new model is released. :p;)

Tomorrow is the 1 month anniversary of my D800E order and it's still over a month away. I obviously have no patience.

I've heard that you can't use the 24mm PC-E on the D800/D800E?

The D800 sample shot in the National Library of France was shot with that lens.

god damn!!! what do you know?

I dropped my newly acquired 105mm f/2.8 VR on wet pavement from about 3 feet, and dropped my D700+24-70mm on shiny tiles from about a foot or so...

guess which broke? My damn MB-D10!!!!!

now I need to get my hot shoe and Mb-d10 fix!!! talk about bad luck :(

before you guys ask why... it was raining and I was in a hurry to get out of my vehicle, grabbed the bag and forgot that I did not zip it up earlier, so my 105mm flew out of the bag, picked it up and zip my bag then ran about 20 meters with the camera on my other hand, soaked my camera and all that, then when I got to our door, I tried to rearrange the stuff I was carrying and let go of the camera  :(

I feel you man. How did all that stuff fly out?

it happened separately... first the 105mm VR, then I let go of the D700_24-70mm as I was standing at our front door  I guess I was just dead tired from all the work I did earlier in the day...was not thinking properly and it was raining hard too

yeap.... but the MB-D10 broke :( somewhere around the contacts and near the shutter :( I was not expecting it coz it dropped from about 1 foot only, but I guess it hit the corner... if it hit the other side where the L-bracket would have been, I don't think there would have been any damage at all :(

I need to visit the newly opened Nikon service center here to have it fixed together with my hot shoe problem  I hope they won't charge me an arm and a leg

Thanks guys. I've never really had to the opportunity or walk around and photograph natural dunes. Needless to say they're pretty photogenic.
