Did a shoot with a local artist a couple weeks ago. He wanted a portrait for the back cover for his up coming CD. Here is an OOC and PP. He is happy with the PP image. I would like some C&C to see if it can be made better.

The PP looks a little too dark to me.

Ask a thousand photographers...get a thousand answers. Personally I like the bottom shot. Has more of a grunge feel to me.

Thanks everyone. Yes, the PP version is for the cover. Any tips to remove the glare from the top of the guitar? I tried cloning it but I'm having difficulty replicating the detail inlay on the edge of the woodgrain.

Personally, I wouldn't worry about the glare. My eyes go right to his face when I look at the photo. The editted version looks the best to me. IMHO.

My 2 cents...I like the darker picture on the bottom, but the guitar strap over the guitar is distracting to me. Seems you (or the musician) wants to show off the words on the strap, but the guitar proped up facing the audience makes the viewer (this viewer anyway) want to see it. We can't. Maybe angle the guitar toward the viewer instead of straight-on and hang the strap forward - or, have the musician sling the axe to his back with the strap going across his chest.?.? Overall that bottom shot has a really cool feel to it.

Thank you for the input, everyone. We wanted a darker look to blend with the rest of the cover art.

He also wanted the strap to show because it has his Mohawk name and everyone knows the general shape of a guitar. KAH'STO'SERI-IO translated means Goodfeather

We did his CD release party at Viracocha in the Mission Dist of San Francisco last night. What a BLAST!

I got my copy of the CD and scanned it lol

Check it out!
