Supposedly the CY version appears sharper wide open (I believe it doesn't have as much spherical aberration) but the bokeh isn't nearly as soft as the ZF/ZE version. Also, looking at the MTF, the 35/1.4 seems to have much better stop down performance edge to edge. With that said I'm sure there are things not seen on the MTF that someone who has used both can better comment on.

I no longer, but still long, for this lost loved lens, so here is my contribution! :'(

This is a wonderful lens, you’re right.

Thank you! I was reluctant to bring such expensive gear skiing, but when we got out there and saw how beautiful it was I was really glad I didn't take my S95 instead.

I got the lens a couple of weeks ago. It's my first MF lens and I expected a steep learning curve, but it's going great so far (5D with Ee-s screen) and the image quality is stunning. I did very little post processing on the photos above. Just added a little more "black".

Look forward to see more photos from you all!

^ Nice atmosphere in those! I have yet to photograph people with mine. That must be a lot harder to MF than what I normally shoot.
