Supposedly the CY version appears sharper wide open (I believe it doesn't have as much spherical aberration) but the bokeh isn't nearly as soft as the ZF/ZE version. Also, looking at the MTF, the 35/1.4 seems to have much better stop down performance edge to edge. With that said I'm sure there are things not seen on the MTF that someone who has used both can better comment on.
