Also hard to tell what is up without a more detailed explanation.

If you want to use the AF-ON button and have your shutter not focus, then go to your button configuration CF setting, and select the shutter button, then set it to only start metering. I am assuming the 5D3 is laid out much like the 7D, and haven't downloaded the manual though.

It's a lot more deeper then the mk II for starters but....
I went into C.fn2:disp./operation and down to custom controls

/edit
Latest --> somehow it's how i want it, i just kept fiddling around with it.

referring people who want pics....
tomorrow after my music gig I will post.

I need to know how to make images sharper. It is like my background is out doing my subject. They are eye catching but they do not keep the eye.

I expect this is more of a user issue than a camera issue. ;)

True, bought a 5D MII on Craigs list...a while ago, the guy told me that it was too much camera for his video needs and couldnt figure out how to use it after a few days of messing with it..First thing I noticed is the AF was turned off and a few other settings were all jacked around..set it to default while inspecting and boom it was a great deal...only had about 26 photos on it...I paid 2000 cash for it...I almost felt bad for the guy...It was still brand new OOTB...Got the receipt, box and everything....SO go ahead...dont learn how to use your camera...sell it to someone who can...for cheap!!

1. welcome to the forums
2. since your question has nothing to do with the subject of this thread, you should start a new thread rather than responding to this one
3. when you create your thread, you will need to give more information. what camera, what lens, what conditions, what camera settings. you will also need to post a sample image or two that let us see what you are talking about.
4. again, welcome to the forums

WHAT!?!?

Pics or it didn't happen! (Of the camera and some samples from it too please!)

He can't. He had to sell his house, his car, and all his other cameras to afford the 5D3. He's now living in a box under the nearest bridge, so he has no other camera to take photos of his 5D3 with, nor can he afford a mirror.
