Where is the best place to photography different kinds of birds in Geogira. I am going on a camping trip soon and depending on your help, that decides where I will go. I'm just kind of getting old of al the smae birds. I don't have that many different species in my back yard, any help is appreciated.

Back from the dead

I'd like to hear from fellow bird shooters in the Georgia area as well. I am in Savannah and often travel to Atlanta, so I am open to most of the state.

Some places that come to mind:

Lake Mayer (Savannah)
Harris Neck (50 miles south of Savannah) - Recommended by a photographer I bumped into downtown. I have yet to visit, but plan to in the very near future.
Gulfstream Road (Port Wentworth) - Huge nesting area just off the road. Forgive me for not knowing the type of birds. But, the nests are in trees about 10-12 feet high in water with a very clear shot as the birds are quite active flying in and out of the nests.
Okefenokee Swamp (Southeast part of GA) - Have not been since I was a child.

That is an excellent suggestion Jeremy.

Personally, I'm gearing up to attack the Spring Warbler migration around the Kennesaw Mtn. National Battlefield Park. You can easily "see" 40-50 species in 1 day; now getting captures may be a different story - :). I haven't checked about the peak, but I'm betting that I'll have some luck starting next week.
Anyone who'd like to join me feel free to send me a PM and we'll make arrangements. That includes you too Jeremy - ;)

I wish I could make it out there. GA is far from AZ.
If youre ever out here. Let me know. I can show anyone around!
