Great shots! You're definitely capturing a lot of personality that seems genuine. Very cool!

Dieter from Detmold, my family and I visited Detmold a couple of weeks back. Our intention was to enjoy the sun, grab some coffee and enjoy our time with the children. While walking the main streets I looked over my shoulder and noticed this guy totally dressed out of the ordinary riding the most unusual bike I have ever seen "full body shot below" - I'm not one for stopping an individual riding a bike but on this occasion I had to. I quickly run over to him, asked him kindly to stop and told him what I was doing and after looking totally amazed he agreed to the photo. Off to the side a large Church shaded the direct sunlight and so I asked him if he would step out of the sun and adopt a natural stance while I composed my shot. At this time my wife and children had realised what I was up to and came over to look on.

I quickly fired off a number of shots taking advantage of what little time I had knowing I was keeping him from continuing on his journey. My wife built up a conversation with him, he talked about how he used to work with some of Germany's top photographers back in the film days and found it very interesting that I wanted to take his photo. Every time I took a photo he would reply "very nice, oh yes very nice" which I thought was very funny but at the same time made me feel more relaxed knowing he was enjoying the session. He talked about a gallery that he owned and worked in and this was his destination before I stopped him - after maybe 5 minutes he talked about the bicycle that he was riding, it was pink, stamped with CrazyDay on the frame - a custom bike that brought a lot of attention. After a further 5 minutes our children started to get bored, I thanked him kindly for his time and passed on a business card!

Great shots. You're really capturing lots of personality in these. Some of them would look good in B & W too.

...going back to Stranger #03 this guy was stood next time him and interested in what myself and Roland was up too, we told him and then I asked if it was possible to take his photo and he agreed. He's a Nikon shooter himself and was interested in what equipment I was using, he talked about crop and full frame cameras and seemed a knowledgeable guy. I took only 2 or 3 photos, passed on my business card and then we moved on....

This guy was roaming the streets with a friend, bottle of beer in one hand and reserve bag full of beer in the other. He never spoke a word, I asked him if I could take his photo and he nodded ... I took 2 or 3 images, said thank you and we moved on..That was it!

Subbing just to see more excellent images...

Very interesting concept, sure beats the heck out of "Project 365" and "Project 52" stuff you see every day...

The only stupid question is the one that goes unasked - Photographers shoot to thrill, not to kill
