Colin - in his St Patrick's Day outfit :)

I've never used the white seamless before, what can I do now in post to make it white? I'm sure better lighting would have helped me out, but I was working with what I had  I did try lightening it up with a levels adjustment, and curves as well, but it's still not white. Do I paint it white with a brush? Thanks for any tips!

Great pictures! Use the dodge tool (set to highlights) to blow out the BG. Just be careful with the feathering when you get close to him.

Sometimes I use a "Selective Color" adjustment layer.. then choose the white channel and remove the color that is causing a cast. It will pull that color out of the whites. You can also choose to remove black from the whites which will lighten it up without dodging,

If you do this, you will most of the time need to paint on the mask, and keep the adjustment from affecting your subject. Just use a soft round brush set to 100% opacity and when you're finished, give the mask a little guassian blur, which will soften the edges and make it look more natural.

Trial and error.. :)

Thank you :) I think he's pretty cute, too, but I am definitely biased! :)

So I played around with the whites some more, not sure I'm there yet but I think it's an improvement:

Thanks for sending the file.. Here's the edited version, cropped to 11x14 aspect ratio.

Looking at this upload, looks like it could use a little darkening of the midtones... things always look different compressed, or maybe my eyes just needed a break.. lol. . anyway, you get the idea. :)

Some curves/levels adjustments, pulled some magenta out of the skin tones, and pulled blue/cyan out of the background, etc.... You have a message waiting... :)

:) Happy to help... Next time you shoot on the white, try to shoot a grey card if you have one.. it will make adjusting the color much easier once you get the images open in your Raw editor. Or do a custom white balance in camera, if you're pretty sure the light won't be changing. :) It will save you tons of time on the back end. :)
