That is the provincial Electronic Recycling Fee.
Which is another bogus government tax that has never
been used for anything to do with what they claim they
are collecting it for.

Thanks, mystery solved! I had always wondered what that was. (Odd that in-province retailers aren't charging it for online sales.)

It was ment for Computer Equipment, TV's and other electronic equipment.
But the wording in a little ambiguous, so it looks like they are charging for
it. Almost every computer shop I deal with across canada collects it.

I believe that they are using "BorderFree" http://www.borderfree.net/ (external link)
which is a service originally set up by Canada Post, to clear the
customs & GST, and collect the taxes. B&H's website is probably just
calling SOAP service from their server, and it's calculating things wrong
and messing thems up. Just a guess.

I did exactly as you have shown and it charged me 310.55$, i did the checkout again just now and i got the same as you just got so perhaps there was some sort of technical error in the calculator. I actually contacted BH this afternoon about this and i was told "the price listed is the amount it costs", seemingly ignoring my explanation.

I just tried this (Monday at Noon EST) and got the same results "Evan Idler" got (above). If you've placed an order and feel it should be reviewed, please let us know.

Well...I wrote an email to B&H services a week ago...still no answer as I had the same problem as bfinta.

B&H may have amazing prices but the service is by far a good one.

My apologies. Send a copy to me, please. Include your B&H order number if there is one.

I just got off the phone with them as I was tired of waiting and the issue has been resolved. Thank you for taking the time to try and resolve my issue.
