I've had my 5Dfor couple weeks now, wanted to try it over my MKIIN, and 60D, the image quality is indeed great, the 60D's at 18mega pixel is incredible as well, but what bothers me on the 5D is how slow it is, i mean to do any type of sports ur gonna be running at a high 3200 iso to even get 100 of a sec, in a dim room, it reminds me alot of my 10D, it was slow as well, i'm sure there is a cult going with the 5D and its images are sweet, i dont know how those guys are doing it with weddings its so slow, and the mirror fix slaps up, so slow, did i mention slow... is it me??? did the MKIIN and 60D and my MKIII spoil me????

Yeah compared to my 30D it feels like mollasses. I don't mind much when I use it though, although its definitely not a sports camera.

I shoot RAW + small basic jpeg because going through JPEG files and judging which ones are worthy of PP takes less time than opening and checking out every last RAW file to see if they're worth PP'ing.

Now if I used LR it'd be a whole different matter, but seeing as I don't, this is the only choice I have. I'd imagine it's the same for many people.

You can also use Bridge to preview the RAW files to see if they are worth it. This would give you more space on your card.

New owner and restricted to using only a 50mm f/1.8 until I acquire another lens.

Do you mean slow as in frame rate? It was never designed to be sports camera in that regard. I dont get your point about being slow for weddings though?

i mean to do any type of sports ur gonna be running at a high 3200 iso to even get 100 of a sec, in a dim room,

I don't really understand this...The only thing relating to having to run ISO 3200 and 100th sec shutter speed is the aperture of the lens. This is the same across all camera bodies.

^ true. I mean, it all depends on actually HOW MUCH light is there and what look you are wanting to achieve to be honest. Correct exposure isn't a set number such as ISO 50/120th/f/1.8... cause you can do ISO 100/250th/f/1.8 and get same look just faster speed.

^^^I understand exposure...
What I don't understand is how the above statement I quoted has anything to do with the 5D. The numbers look the same on all camera bodies. ie. iso 3200 f2.8 @100th on the 5D is the same exposure on a 1D II, 60D, etc. Hope that clarifies it....

I was agreeing with you... just providing an example for the guy you were originally correcting
