Guys! Please this is a thread about 5D3 not about how good photos can be shot with an iPhone so please leave that out of this thread.

Argh.. usually I don't mind the off topic stuff but all the iphone talk is just blah.... everytime I see new posts to this thread I think I'm going to see some sample photos etc but half of the last few pages have been about iphones etc.

Here is my vote to get back on topic!

What battery grip is that? I thought the one for the Mark III wasn't being released until the end of April.

no battery grip
this is his 30D camera
first he made some photos for the 5D3 with his 30D
then he want to show you the 5D3 photos that why he shoot his 30D with the battery grip
to show the images shot with the new camera
LOL :D

No, its not on THAT pic, if you click it links to Flickr and one of the images in the album features the Mark III with a grip attached.

*EDIT: Actually, scratch that. I read the tag wrong, it wasn't the Mark III in the image :P My bad!

Yeah, it is my trusty old 30D. I shot the unpacking pictures with the 30D +24-105, then I shot the 30D with the 5D3.

Certainly an encouraging sign. :)

Thanks! These look very nice, but they were taken in good light, so I'd expect them to be good. Now we need some pics in overcast/grey weather and darker conditions...

its a 5d2 at 6fps and pro autofocus. what is there not to be happy about?
The camera is a great camera. is it overpriced at 3500 compared to 5d2 at 2800 introduction? no in my opinion. Is it overpriced compared to d800 at 3000, yes in my opinion. Do I think d800 is over all a better camera and a better value? yes. Do I think that this will lead to a mass exodus from canon camp, or a lowering of 5d3 price? absolutely not. The main market for both of these cameras consists of people who already own canon or nikon equipment. the disparity between them is not great, unless you have an absolute specific use, with limited lens (like a landscape shooter, hoping for large prints, or a primary sports shooter, not focal length limited, and wanting to shoot at 6fps without cropping). canon will sell this camera like hot cake. people were paying 5500-8000 for a 1ds3 instead of a d700, who did not even need the resolution. Its the first time canon is putting its top of the line autofocus in a full frame camera at this price point (half of their 7-8K introductory price). Its going to be a hit.

These are 2 of the better high ISO shots I've seen from the 5DIII, I think they look great:

but under white light? we all know canon struggles in the shadows, and that's real world use (weddings)...so under white light doesn't do me much good. thanks regardless though!

^This. I'm actually quite tempted to trade in my 1Ds3 for one once I am armed with a 1DX. I was extremely impressed with how robust it felt in my hands when I had my mittens on one yesterday, and with a Wimberley plate permanently attached to the bottom of one, aren't concerned with it's survival in my hands and inquisitive rather large felines. Nice camera Canon :)

I agree, f5.6 1/200 isn't exactly challenging lighting. That said, they look pretty good.

25,600 on the 5dIII looks like 12,800 on my 1dVI... either way, very capable camera and I'm sure for receptions it'll rock at 25,600.

the other part of me is thinking "ok, if i've gotten away with 6400 all this time, i'm sure 12,800 and 25,600 will just make my life a smidge easier". anyone else in this boat?
